surfers paradise life saving clubWalk into the Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club and you can have a beer or wine as you watch the tourists navigate their way around the esplanade.

Located on the corner of Hanlan Street and the Esplanade, it’s an ideal position for grabbing a cheap buffet breakfast before heading across the road to the beach or a burger and chips after a morning swim.

The furnishings are historical, but comfortable, and the food and drinks are priced well. But when we went there in the peak season, with all the tables completely full, we realised we had made a mistake…

A MISTAKE WAS MADE…We have had meals here previously, but didn’t realise we could use the upstairs bar/lounge area until we headed up there by mistake.

It was the best mistake we ever made – bourne out of curiosity. We were just looking at all the photos and wondered where the stairs led.

The staff were helpful and the views were amazing. the decor is fresh and updated and best of all, it is a quiet area away from the busy bustle of downstairs.

We had the seafood basket and the calamari fish and chips respectively. The food was plentiful and beautifully cooked. Prices were reasonable and if you go early, you’re likely to get a good seat to enjoy the beach views.

They also do a wonderful breakfast buffet for $12 which is fantastic value for the whole family.
